Work of the Future Fellow, Generative AI

Sabiyyah Ali is a Work of the Future Fellow focused on generative AI. She is also an Electrical Engineering and Computer Science MEng student at MIT CSAIL advised by Dr. Charles Leiserson and Dr. Tao B. Schardl in the SuperTech Group. Her research broadly focuses on building systems to improve the performance and scalability of distributed applications. Her MEng thesis revolves around enabling parallel computation for PyTorch using the OpenCilk Compiler. Through the fellowship, she hopes to gain a fresh perspective on the biases, inaccuracies, and inefficiencies present in LLM architecture that hinder its usability. Outside of research, she enjoys movies, hiking, and mahjong.
